| Age Group Success: Karen Smith at IM Lake Placid |

Congratulations to Bermuda mother and businesswoman Karen Smith for her outstanding result at Ironman Lake Placid. Smith, who races in the 40-44 category finished in a time of 10:21, placing as the 3rd overall amateur and an amazing 11th place overall including the pros! Smith, coached by LifeSport coach Paul Regensburg, set a personal best by 17 minutes and won her division by an unprecedented 35 minutes! Congratulations to Karen who will now set her sights on the Hawaiian Ironman.
Julia Hawley of Bermuda set a 25' Ironman PB, besting her times in all disciplines to finish 6th at IM Lake Placid. She missed out on a Kona spot but will now focus on recovery and then Clearwater 70.3 Worlds. Julia says "I so had the perfect race yesterday!! I pb'd all 3 things but of course my run was the best!!"
