Members of the LifeSport Pro Team gathered this past week for a pre season Training Camp and were treated to an unseasonably warm and sunny Victoria. Winter camps give the coaches and their athletes a chance to work face to face and fine tune the technical components of training before the racing begins. Lead by Head Coach Lance, the camp was a great way to reconnect with Brent, Lisa, Amanda, Steven, Cliff and the local contingent; Brent and Magali and establish routines for the upcoming season. Most days started off with a session in Commonwealth Pool, followed by perfect conditions for outdoor riding and running. Since many athletes are still in the depths of snow, this is a great way to begin 2010.
February is also a perfect time to establish baseline fitness measurements and athlete testing was done at The Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE). Recently opened in Victoria, this is a state of the art facility with basketball courts, soccer pitches and labs used by athletes from a wide range of sports. For pictures of the LifeSport athletes in action, check out pictures here. Thanks to James Brotherhood at PISE for arranging the testing.
